Bulgarian Orthodox Church marks St. Boris day

On May 2 the Bulgarian Orthodox church marks St. Boris day in memory of Tsar Boris-Mikhail, baptizer, who converted Bulgarians to Orthodox Christianity. 
Tsar Boris I, called “equal to the apostles” died on this day in the year 907. 
Boris I gave refuge to the disciples of Saints Cyril and Methodius when they were banished from Great Moravia in 885 and helped develop the Bulgarian alphabet and literature.
