Bulgaria’s GDP growth to slow down in 2016: Bulgarian Academy of Sciences

A report of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences presented on Monday in Sofia forecasts that Bulgaria’s economy would slow down in 2016. The scientists expect that the growth of the gross domestic product of that country would be 1% lower as compared to 2015 due to the end of the former programming period and the slowdown of the EU funds absorption in the beginning of the new programming period. The Bulgarian labor market has been showing positive signs, employment has been increasing recently and unemployment level has been dwindling. However, the decrease of the labor force in Bulgaria due to the ongoing demographic crisis is very alarming, the authors of the report contend.
