The “.ею” domain, which is the Cyrillic version of the popular .eu domain extension, has been officially presented in Sofia. In addition to Bulgarians there are more than 300 million people in the world using Cyrillic and the new domain extension is in line with the EU motto, which is: “United in diversity," Ognian Zlatev, head of the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria, said. Cyrillic domains will provide easier access to the Internet in people’s native language. When it comes to the businesses it is important that the new domain extension will be accurately indexed by Internet search engines.
