The Bulgarian National Assembly has ratified the Protocol of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization for the accession of Montenegro to the organization. In submitting to parliament the protocol for ratification, the Council of Ministers has pointed to that Bulgaria being member of NATO has repeatedly declared its principled and unconditional support for NATO’s open-doors policy. This support is a guarantee for consolidation of peace, and for lasting security and prosperity in the region. The invitation extended to Montenegro is an undoubted success for the policy pursued by Bulgaria, the Council of Ministers has also said.
