Bulgaria’s tourism to mark its most successful year: Minister Nikolina Angelkova

Bulgaria’s tourism sector has been marking the most successful year in the past 25 years, Bulgaria’ Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova announced, Focus news agency informs. According to preliminary data, the revenues in the sector in the first seven months of 2016 amounted to EUR 1.1 billion. The number of tourists saw a 17% increase year on year, Nearly 4.5 million tourists visited Bulgaria between January and July this year, which is 14% more as compared to 2014, which was until now the best year for Bulgaria’s tourism. The number of German tourists visiting that country in 2016 saw a 40% increase year on year. The number of Russian tourists visiting Bulgaria during the summer season saw a 30% increase year on year.
