Celebrations peak today at 6 pm with laying wreaths at two emblematic monuments in Pliska’s center: of Tsar Boris I who Christianized Bulgaria, and of archeologists Karel Skorpil and Fyodor Uspenski who began the first archeological excavations in the ancient city.
