According to an analysis of the Interior Ministry, quoted by the BGNES agency, the trend of decreasing number of recorded crimes in Bulgaria has been preserved. The number of crimes registered in 2016 was 97 857, while in 2015 they were 107 870. In 2014 the number of crimes registered in Bulgaria reached 114 004. According to preliminary data of the Interior Ministry, an average of 11 crimes per hour is registered in this country. The percentage of solved crimes reaches 40 percent, while some 36% of registered crimes are qualified as "theft."
