GERB proposes state support to boost birth rate, Reformist Bloc – a Bulgarian national doctrine

State support for boosting the birth rate in the country and easing the demographic crisis by introducing the so-called three-child model and salaries for grandmothers looking after their grandchildren. These are some of the proposals made by GERB leader Boyko Borissov who is taking part in a forum dedicated to education and economic growth. He added that the money for doubling of teachers’ salaries his party has promised, would come from cutting off smuggling rings.

The Reformist Bloc on its part is proposing a Bulgarian national doctrine. One of the ideas is for our compatriots from ethnic communities abroad to obtain passports with priority provided they assume the commitment to work and live in Bulgaria for no less than five years, said Emil Kabaivanov, member of the National Coordination Council of the Reformist Bloc. The Reformist Bloc is also proposing that unemployment benefits only be granted to people who have completed the first stage of secondary school education, as announced by Dimitar Delchev from the Bloc’s National Coordination Council. The reformists are also demanding stricter control in the allocation of disability pensions.
