Bulgaria’s educational institutions to receive an extra EUR 165 million in 2018

According to the medium-term budget estimate, the money allotted to educational institutions in Bulgaria will increase with EUR 165 million in 2018, Bulgaria’s Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Valchev announced. The formula used for the distribution of money in education will be amended, Minister Valchev added. The cost standard will not only depend on the number of pupils. The small schools will receive additional financing after the changes. Teachers working in small and remote settlements, as well as those working in educational institutions with children from vulnerable groups will be compensated, in order to guarantee equal access to education in Bulgaria, Minister Krasimir Valchev further said.
