Producer prices in Bulgaria increase sharply in July 2017

Producer prices in Bulgaria increased sharply in July 2017 as a result of the increase in the producer prices of electricity, heat and gas, the Bulgarian National Statistical Institute reports. The total producer price index increased with 1.3% month on month and with 4.7% as compared to July last year. Experts comment that the increase of the producer prices would stimulate inflation in the coming months and is another clear sign that the Bulgarian economy has been steadily escaping from deflation and stagflation registered between October 2015 and November 2016.
