A team of archeologists headed by Maya Martinova started new excavations and research on the Eastern Gate of Philipopolis in Plovdiv. In August the site was handed over for management to Plovdiv Municipality. The goal of the excavations is to fully unearth and restore the gate at its best, and prepare it for display for tourists. The Haskovo Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment received, under a project of the Healthcare Ministry, a set of life-saving equipment for the childbirth ward for premature babies. The most important apparatus is a transport incubator with integrated respirator and a monitor for intensive therapy of newborn babies.
