Bulgarian archaeologists discovered a Thracian sanctuary from the Hellenistic period near the Bulgaria-Greece border. The finds prove the close contacts between the Greek and the Thracian civilizations in the Rhodopes. The sanctuary was discovered near the village of Benkovski (Kirkovo municipality) and dates back to the 3rd-4th century BC.
