The Bulgarian Central Election Commission (CEC) organizes today a simulation of remote electronic voting. The test is in connection with the objective of introducing an e-voting option at the 2019 elections for European Parliament members.
Simulations differ from experimental remote e-voting which is planned for 2018. The system for remote electronic voting has been developed by Information Services Company under a contract with CEC and complies with the provisions of the Election Code.
CEC should carry out three simulations by the end of the year – for elections of European Parliament members, for elections of Bulgarian National Assembly members and for elections of mayors.There is no agreement among the parliamentary groups on whether the National Assembly should work throughout the month of August or go on vacation.
