As expected, best Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov received the Sports Icarus Award for annual achievements of the Bulgarian Sport Foundation. He got the recognition for his London ATP final tournament achievement and the record third place in the world rankings, alongside his 2017 titles in Brisbane, Sofia and Cincinnati. The award giving ceremony for the year will take place on December 19th at the National Gallery. The Sports Icarus tradition is dated back to 1992 and over the past 25 years dozens of Bulgarian athletes have received the unique plastics of artist Hristo Hristov as recognition of their achievements.
