As expected, best Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov received the Sports Icarus Award for annual achievements of the Bulgarian Sport Foundation. He got the recognition for his London ATP final tournament achievement and the record third place in the world rankings, alongside his 2017 titles in Brisbane, Sofia and Cincinnati.
