Bulgaria’s Ministry of Tourism announced that it will promote Bulgaria as year-round tourist destination at the large sports events hosted by this country in 2018. From February 4 until February 11 Bulgaria is to host for the third time an ATP tennis tournament. Between September 10 and 30 Sofia, Varna and Ruse will host the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship. Bulgaria will host this event for the first time since 1970. Sofia will host at the same time the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships. Bulgaria has been among the leading countries in this sport. Over 2,000 athletes and guests are expected to take part at this event and the number of sports fans will be much higher. Sofia was voted 2018 European Capital of Sport.
