Trend of declining number of appeals filed in European Court against Bulgaria preserved

The majority of MPs in the Bulgarian National Assembly have adopted the Annual Report of the Minister of Justice on execution of decisions of the European Court of Human Rights in cases against this country in 2016.

According to the report, the trend of declining number of complaints filed against Bulgaria has been preserved. There has been observed a steady trend towards improving respect for human rights, it was reported.

Data show that Bulgaria ranked 15th when it came to number of filed complaints and 7th when it comes to the number of convictions.
