Two recidivists who escaped yesterday from the Sofia Central Prison have been declared internationally wanted, Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior, Mladen Marinov, has announced.
One of the criminals - Vladimir Pelov, had been sentenced to 30 years in prison for armed robbery, attempted murder of a policeman and kidnapping, while the other - Radoslav Kolev, has a 26-year sentence for murder.
The two escaped, armed with "a firearm and a knife", as they managed to neutralize attempts of prison staff to stop them, including those of a janitor lady who also intervened, Minister of Justice Tsetska Tsacheva told reporters.
