Alpha Research: competition at forthcoming European and local elections will be tough

Photo: library

The ruling coalition entered the autumn political season with weakened positions, a survey of Alpha Research shows. The electoral support for GERB fell from its June levels to 22.2%. The support for the Bulgarian Socialist Party has remained unchanged at 19.7%. However, BSP failed to attract new supporters. The Movement for Rights and Freedoms is supported by 6.6% of the citizens. Volya party remains under the 4% barrier. Despite the general perception that if elections were held today the political situation would remain almost the same, the support for the main political parties is quite volatile, the survey further shows. According to Alpha Research, the competition for the votes of the Bulgarian citizens at the forthcoming European and local elections in 2019 will be tough.
