Artist Nikolay Deliyanev presents innovative style in his exhibition "The Mystery of Vibrations"

БНР Новини

The more you look at these abstract paintings, the more you feel the vibrations of colors, light and even air. This is the general impression of the first solo exhibition of young Bulgarian artist Nikolay Deliyanev in Sofia. It is on display in "The House of Sofia" art space and will remain there until October30. According to critics his paintings have an inimitable style and are both natural, airy and mysterious. The abstract three-dimensional paintings provoke viewers’ imagination. Shapes and colors in them seem to come closer to reality, but they also repel it to leave a sense of touch to something mystical, even cosmic and divine. It is no coincidence that Nikolay Deliyanev himself called the exhibition "The Mysteries of Vibrations". "The lines and colors, the glitter and the lights in his paintings seem to vibrate and the way in which the resonance of vibrations is transmitted is melodious and mysterious." This is how art critics describe his works.

It is obvious that through art, feelings are transmitted, taking the viewer to the world of the author and his fantasies. As an additional touch to the artist's work, we must mention the influence of Italian culture and the architecture of Rome where the artist has been working. Nikolay Deliyanev told us more about himself and his first solo exhibition in Bulgaria:

"I started creating art started when I was a little child. I started painting some flying horses on the walls of our house. Throughout my life, art has always been in me and I show it through my paintings. I am a graduate of the Fine Arts High School in Blagoevgrad. Since I was a kid I have been searching for books about the great names in art and have studied them. The desire to paint and experiment in a variety of styles, to look for different techniques and themes was born in me. When I went to Italy 23 years ago, my first job was to visit all the cathedrals. I am a believer, but when I first entered, I accepted them as a true "art library". In this place you can see the work of the great masters of painting. It does not matter that these people are not among us as their art would always influence us. Even without noticing it, they enrich people emotionally and leave a mark forever. The Mystery of Vibrations title hints of imaginary strings that can be seen. They give this three-dimensional sense and sense of vibrations. I am glad that the viewer perceives them as well. There is an interaction between man and painting and this link seems to vibrate in the viewer’s consciousness and fantasy. It is pleasant when I speak to visitors about the mystery they discover through their senses and fantasy in my works."

Just like any other man dedicated to art, Nikolay Deliyanevis constantly looking for surprise through new techniques in painting. He is now convinced that in life and in art, nothing happens accidentally. For example, the meeting with Venezuelan artist Wilmer Herrison made Deliyanev consider using visual illusion into his compositions. "Herrison creates many geometrical works, working with the technique called optical illusion. I had experience with the figurative meaning, but when I added the optical technique, many spectacular paintings were born", Nikolay Deliyanev says and adds:

“This way I have the opportunity to express all the emotions and love in my paintings and I hope it resonates in the audience. In my opinion, this style is very relevant and in the future it will be very popular, as critics also pay much attention to it.I always work, listening to music and the vibrations of music go through the brush into my paintings. I have always been interested in art trends and in everything that's going on in Bulgaria. My motherland is in my heart and I feel inclined to everything Bulgarian and eager to discover things that I have previously missed. The most important thing is that culture in Bulgaria has been on the rise for a long time, and this means that there will be progress for the whole country as well."
