For the TurkStream pipeline project to pass through Bulgaria, the law in the EU has been observed down to the last letter, said Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova.

“We cannot sit and wait for certain favourable events to take place. We need actions adequate to the changing environment, so as to guarantee that Bulgaria will stay on the gas map. Russia is our strategic energy partner and our relations are absolutely pragmatic, upholding our national interest,” Minister Petkova added.

Regarding the future gas hub “Balkan”, she was adamant that Bulgaria will build the interconnectors necessary with the neighbouring countries, including a natural gas exchange.
