The National Assembly Committee on Internal Security and Public Order, the International Center for Migration Policy Development, Konrad-Adenauer Foundation and Hanns Seidel Foundation are holding in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia a round table themed Management of Migration Policy in the Context of the European Parliament Elections. The Chairman of the National Assembly Committee on Internal Security and Public Order Tsvetan Tsvetanov reminded during the opening of the round table that the migration topic was among the priorities of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. He warned that although migration pressure towards Bulgaria has been close to zero in the past two years, the country may be subject to higher migration pressure in the spring and the summer period. Migration pressure has already increased with over 30% in Greece. We are worried with the fact that currently there are nearly 200,000 citizens of Afghanistan in Turkey, Tsvetan Tsvetanov went on to say.
