Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev have discussed energy cooperation between Sofia and Baku. "We have been planning to complete the construction of the inter-connector with Greece by 2020 in order to reach the agreed 1 billion cubic meters of gas per year over the TAP gas pipeline." In fact, after 2020, Azerbaijan's natural gas from Shah Deniz 2 will satisfy about 25 -30% of natural gas consumption in Bulgaria, which is a major share and would significantly increase the energy security of Bulgaria, PM Borissov said.
