The package of measures to improve NATO’s situational awareness in the Black Sea region presented at the NATO foreign ministers meeting in Washington DC does not include the deployment of new forces in the Bulgarian portion of the Black Sea, the focus is on cooperation and coordination with Georgia and Ukraine, and will not entail any additional commitments for Bulgaria, said Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva for the BNR.

Minister Zaharieva expressed the view that the dialogue within the NATO-Russia Council on the annexation of Crimea must continue “so as to bring Russia back on track with regard to international law”.
