Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva and Germany’s Foreign Minister Heiko Maas held a closed-door meeting at the Council of Ministers. They discussed the development of the Western Balkans.

“It is a region with unresolved issues, but it is a region in the heart of Europe that holds promise,” Ekaterina Zaharieva said. Heiko Maas conveyed a message to Bulgarians: “Bulgaria is a strong pro-European partner. I would like to urge all citizens to go out and vote. We want to stake on cooperation, not to submit to populists and nationalists.”
