Deputy Chairman of GERB Tsvetan Tsvetanov resigns from leadership position of GERB party

Deputy Chairman of GERB Tsvetan Tsvetanov has resigned from the party leadership and remains a regular member of the party. This became clear after a discussion between the Chairman of GERB Boyko Borissov and Tsvetanov. In his Facebook account, Tsvetanov expressed his gratitude for the 13 years of work in GERB. The BSP saw "confirmation of guilt" in the retreat of Tsvetanov. The MRF refused to comment, saying they would not want to interfere in the internal affairs of any party.

In 2001 Tsvetanov became assistant to Boyko Borissov, who at that time was the chief secretary of the Interior Ministry. In 2005, when Borissov was elected mayor of Sofia, Tsvetanov became deputy mayor. From July 2009 to March 2013 Tsvetanov was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior in the office of Boyko Borissov. Tsvetanov was invariably next to Borissov in constructing the GERB party.
