880 young farmers to receive 22 million euros

The Agriculture Fund is to conclude contracts with 880 young farmers applying with projects for the European Program for Rural Development. Each of them will receive a subsidy of up to 25,000 euros to start a farming business, with a total aid totaling 22 million euros. Eurostat figures published in January show that Bulgaria is ranked seventh in the EU in terms of number of young farmers under 25, with a total of over 2,400 people.
