Economic growth rate slows down to 3.3 percent over second quarter

During the second quarter of this year the Gross Domestic Product of Bulgaria went up by 3.3 percent compared to the same quarter of 2018, National Statistical Institute data show.

In nominal terms, during the second quarter of 2019 the country’s GDP was in excess of 14.3 billion euro, with final consumption accounting for the biggest share - 76.3 percent.

The export of commodities and services compared to the same period of 2018 is up by 3.3 percent, and imports of commodities and services – down by 5.5 percent. The positive foreign trade balance, amounting to 497 million euro, is having a positive effect on economic growth, and is 3.5 percentage points of the GDP.
