During the second quarter of 2019, over 1,219 million Bulgarian citizens traveled for the purpose of tourism. The country’s population is a little less than 7 million.
Most of them - 75.7% - traveled only inside the country, 19.1% - only abroad, and 5.2% traveled inside Bulgaria as well as to other countries. Compared to the same quarter of 2018 the number of people over 15 who have traveled has gone up by 12.4%, the National Statistical Institute says.
