In the presence of cabinet ministers, politicians, mayors and diplomats, President Rumen Radev opened the summer tourist season in Bulgaria's seaside resort of Nessebar.

In his greeting, the Bulgarian head of state thanked the local authorities and the tourism industry, pointing out that, despite the recent difficult years for the whole world, they are making great efforts for Bulgaria to defend its name as a first-class and safe tourist destination.

"We can open our doors much wider and enrich the image of our country - to be a dynamic, year-round destination, recognizable not only with sea and ski tourism, but also providing unique conditions and experiences to all our guests," Rumen Radev said.

Caretaker Minister of Tourism Evtim Miloshev expressed the expectation for a stable tourist season. "We live in times of crisis, of global clashes, and we are in a place close to them. That is why it is important to send his message: Bulgaria is a safe place", he stressed.
