Agreement for purchase of new ships for Bulgarian Navy expected by end of year

Bulgarian Minister of Defense Krasimir Karakachanov said he expected an agreement for the purchase of new ships for Bulgaria's Navy to be signed by the end of the year.

At the beginning of next year, an agreement will be signed for the purchase of armored vehicles for the Land Forces, Minister Karakachanov also said at the opening of the new academic term at the Military Academy in Sofia. The Chief of Defense, General Andrei Botsev, announced that competitions for the recruitment of 500 men to the army were ongoing. The selection process for pilots of the new F-16 Block 70 fighter jets Bulgaria has purchased is also underway.
