Negotiations taking place over attracting investments in automotive manufacturing

One of South Korea's largest companies has been exploring Bulgaria and two other countries for making an investment of more than 1.5 billion euros, Bulgarian Economy Minister Emil Karanikolov said in Seoul. He is taking part in a delegation led by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, who is on an official visit to South Korea.

Minister Karanikolov said the investment was about building a car battery factory that could be used by different companies. The project is not affiliated with Hyundai or Volkswagen, it was also reported. The Hyundai European Headquarters will be exploring the possibilities of setting up an Autonomous Car and Electric Car Test Center in Bulgaria, as well as auto parts production facilities.
