Within a period of two months, the Supreme Court of Cassation will rule on the request of Attorney General Sotir Tsatsarov for revoking the decision on the early parole of Australian citizen Jock Palfreeman, released from prison by a decision of the Court of Appeal six years before the end of his 20-year prison sentence for the murder of student Andrey Monov in Sofia.

The Australian's early release has sparked public, political and legal debates. Palfreeman himself was not present in the courtroom and was represented by his lawyer. The ambassador of Australia to Greece was present to see the outcome of the case. During the hearing, a hundred people with flags of nationalist IMRO party protested in front of the City Court building against the early release decision.
