The European Philatelic Exhibition "Plovdiv-Phila 2019" has already been opened in Plovdiv. Philatelists from 19 countries are showing impressive exhibits on 480 boards. A well-known collector from London presents rare and expensive Bulgarian philatelic classics, while his colleagues in Sofia add two masterpieces - the stamps “Little Lion” and “East Rumelia”. One can also see collections dedicated to prominent Bulgarian artists, natural landmarks and folk costumes. One of the highlights of the exhibition is the 140th anniversary of the Constantinople Peace Treaty (1879), which officially ended Bulgaria’s Liberation between Russia and the Ottoman Empire. An illustrated postcard dedicated to this anniversary will be validated. Guests of the exhibition are Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha – honorary chairman of the Union of Bulgarian Philatelists and Nikita Lobanov-Rostovsky – grandson of Russian diplomat Prince Aleksey Lobanov-Rostovsky.
