Bulgaria is open to a much more active economic and investment partnership with Japan, said President Rumen Radev at a meeting with the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe.

The meeting took place within the frameworks of President Radev’s visit to Tokyo where he took part in the enthronization of Emperor Naruhito, the presidential press service has announced.

The successful examples of cooperation between Bulgarian and Japanese companies in the automotive industry, energy and the food industry should be used as a model for the subsequent expansion of Japanese investments in Bulgaria, Rumen Radev pointed out. PM Shinzo Abe highlighted the fact that Japanese car companies speak highly of the automotive components and parts coming from Bulgaria and added that Japan has an interest in an even closer cooperation in this sphere.
