After a key intersection in Sofia – Eagles’ Bridge – remained blocked for hours yesterday, in the early hours of this morning traffic in the area was restored.

A protest against the nomination of Ivan Geshev for Prosecutor General blocked off Eagles’ Bridge yesterday. After Geshev was elected to the post by the Supreme Judicial Council last night, fresh protests have now begun in front of the Presidency building. For Ivan Geshev to take up the post of Prosecutor General, President Rumen Radev has to sign a decree for his appointment.
