The GERB party will not have a majority in the new Sofia City Council, as it will have 27 out of a total of 61 councilors. This is seen in the final results after the elections in the capital city. 31 councilors are required to form an independent majority. The second largest group is BSP with 15 members, and third is Democratic Bulgaria with 12 municipal councilors. IMRO has 4 and Ataka Party has 2 positions. Independent candidate Boris Bonev is also to be a councilor, as he ranked fourth in the mayoral race in Sofia.
