In the period December 12 to January 12, the museum dedicated to the life of the Romans – Museo di Roma in Trastevere, will host the interactive exhibition "Bulgaria through the Glass of Time" in the Italian capital city, accompanied by the intoxicating aroma of Bulgarian roses. Numerous visitors to the Trastevere tourist district, where the museum is located, will have the opportunity to view glass photo plaques showing scenes of Bulgarian life from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, which were shown with great success at the "Square 500" gallery in Sofia in the period February to April 2019. Among the exhibits is an antique camera similar to those used to make the photos, as well as an authentic Rhodope folk costume and a hand-forged silver belt with gilding. Most captivating is the installation created by artists Rumen Dimitranov and Georgi Hristov, who through animation and 3D mapping have made the photos showing iconic Bulgarian places come to life. The atmosphere of the Bulgarian Rose Valley is complemented by the scent of rose oil sprayed by several flasks.
A catalog with a link has been created especially for the exhibition at the Museum of Rome, allowing visitors to revisit the exhibition virtually. One of the three halls in which the exhibition is located is furnished as Villa Veneziani. In it, the guests will be able to enjoy watching "Treasure in the Heart" – the 20-minute film by Milena Kaneva and Irina Dilkova, in which Nadezhda Bliznakova recalls her family history. The cultural event is being held with the assistance of the Bulgarian Embassy in Italy and the Bulgarian Cultural institute in Rome and is part of the celebrations for the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Italy and Bulgaria. Rome Mayor Virginia Raggi and Italian Minister of Cultural Values and Tourism Dario Franceschini are also expected to attend the opening of the exhibition.
