Nuclear and fossil fuel experts from the US Department of State and US Department of Energy are already in Bulgaria. They are led by Ann Ganzer, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Non-Nuclear Proliferation.

At their recent meeting, U.S. President Donald Trump and Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov agreed that the US would send a technical team, which together with Bulgarian experts are to explore opportunities for cooperation in various areas in the sphere of energy. The fact that the team arrived so soon after the meeting in White House is a sign of our commitment to the Strategic Partnership Framework between the two countries and our desire to help Bulgaria become an energy hub, said Deputy Chief of Mission Justin P. Friedman. The program of the visit from December 8 to December 13 includes visits to Kozloduy, Belene and the Maritsa East Basin.
