A national protest by driving instructors blocked the central streets of the capital city of Sofia. Protesters have adopted a statement demanding cancelling the newly adopted rule for raising the number of driving hours from 31 to 42 and the introduction of GPS controls in vehicles. Representatives of the driving instructors met with Minister of Education Krasimir Valchev and Minister of Transport Rosen Zhelyazkov for discussions

Following the talks, a decision was made to repeal the disputed ordinance and it was agreed to create a new working group on the issue, as it is to be chaired by the chairperson of the State Road Safety Agency Malina Krumova
