11 new cases of COVID-19 have been registered in Bulgaria today. Thus, the total number of people infected with the new coronavirus in this country is 92, the head of the National Crisis Staff Prof. Ventsislav Mutafchiyski announced. Two more district cities are affected by the virus - Smolyan and Veliko Tarnovo

Citizens who are returning to Bulgaria are placed under a 14- day quarantine and are checked by the law enforcement authorities. If they feel any symptoms of disease they must contact their general practitioner on the phone during the quarantine period. Their GP will decide whether to send them to hospital or not, Professor Mutafchiyksi said.

The number of infected people is increasing at a low rate. It is too early to make conclusions whether we have the situation under control, Major General Mutafchiyski said.

Gathering of more than two seniors at public places has been banned by Bulgaria’s Minister of Health Kiril Ananiev as a new measure against the spread of the disease.
