After the imposition of even more stringent measures to check the spread of COVID-19, as of midnight last night, lines of cars, kilometres long, formed at the entrances and exits of the regional towns in the country. The police are checking the documents of the drivers.
A total of 342 British tourists have left Bansko over the past few days, after the ski resort in Mount Pirin was quarantined. The buses were provided by the British embassy in Bulgaria and were escorted to the airport by police. Around 50 British nationals remain in their homes in Bansko, some are under home quarantine.
There are still Russian citizens left in Bansko as well, who own apartments there. They have all been informed and are following the instructions and complying with the prohibitions.
