To understand how the coronavirus epidemic is developing in Bulgaria, rapid tests are being started for 1,000 people from the groups most at risk – police, public transport vehicle drivers, ambulance drivers, announced Prime Minister Boyko Borissov after the European Council meeting which, for the third time running, took place via videoconferencing.

The tests will be repeated in one month’s time to see what the increase is in the number of people infected and recovered, and therefore when the infection will reach its peak, Boyko Borissov explained. He added that the measures taken so far to combat COVID-19 are appropriate and timely, and that the country has the advantage of not being the target of migratory pressure.
