COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reach 293

A total of 17 new cases of infection with the novel coronavirus have been confirmed today in Bulgaria. With them, their total number rises to 293, the National Crisis Staff announced. Of the new cases, 13 are in Sofia and there is one new case in Plovdiv, Pazardzhik, Varna and Sliven. 

One patient from the Pirogov Emergency Hospital in Sofia was discharged, thus raising the number of those cured to 9. There are 8 patients in serious condition in hospitals. 

The youngest person who tested positive for the coronavirus is a 3-year-old and the oldest is 81. 13 medics have been infected, as with most of them the contagion happened not in their workplace but during travelling abroad. 

Of those infected, 99 are in hospitals, with no children among them.
