Hristos Voskrese! Happy Easter!

Orthodox Christians in Bulgaria celebrate the holiest feast of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. His Resurrection symbolizes the victory over evil and death.

In Sofia, in front of the Saint Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte led the festive Easter liturgy and congratulated the Bulgarian people. The service was held in collaboration with Metropolitan Anthony of Western and Central Europe.

The head of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church greeted the believers with the words that today no one should grieve and mourn, that we should forget about all anxieties and trials, because we welcome the feast that brings faith, hope and love into our hearts.
Currently, the Pascal vespers service called the "Second Resurrection" is taking place at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Sveta Nedelya in central Sofia.
Most believers observed the recommendations of the National Crisis Staff and chose to pray at their homes to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
