A massive traffic flow was expected on Monday morning after Easter along the motorways in the direction of Sofia, where, at the checkpoints along the entry points to the city people traveling towards Sofia are required to show an ID card and a document certifying that they live or work in the city.
Private cars are only allowed to enter Sofia in the intervals between 6 and 8 AM and between 6 and 8 PM.
During this morning’s interval, the traffic flow towards Sofia was low. Regarding the expected mass after-Easter return, the Sofia Metropolitan Directorate of the Interior warned, at a briefing this morning, that the correctness of the circumstances declared upon entry and exist of the city will be verified, and that drivers who have given false information will be held criminally liable.
