5 EU countries have not passed the peak of Covid-19 infection. Bulgaria (according to data of April 23) stands out as the only reporting a rise in number of cases. In Romania, Poland, Sweden and the UK, there is stabilization of number of new cases in the past two weeks.

This is what Andrea Ammon, Director of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) said at a meeting of the European Parliament's Public Health Committee. The initial wave of the epidemic in Europe appears to have passed its peak. It's a marathon, not a sprint. It will not end soon and we should be prepared, Andrea Ammon added.
