First 500 meters of the longest tunnel in Bulgaria have been excavated

The first 500 meters of the longest tunnel in Bulgaria have been excavated. It became clear during the inspection of Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Petya Avramova at Zheleznitsa Tunnel on Struma motorway. The future road infrastructure facility will consist of two separate two kilometer-long tubes for movement in each direction. The project is financed with EU money. Struma Motorway will connect Bulgaria’s capital Sofia and the Bulgaria-Greece border.
