The preparation of the new program for cross-border cooperation between Bulgaria and Romania for the period 2021 to 2027 has been discussed by Minister of Regional Development Petya Avramova and Romanian Ambassador Ion Gâlea.

One third of the money from cross-border projects can be used for pre-investment research of new Danube bridges and ports, for restoration of the transport corridor and improvement of river navigation. A leading project is the development of the EuroVelo 6 Route, supported by the municipalities along the Danube. The aim of the projects is stimulating economic activity through transport accessibility for businesses in the border region, as well as the development of tourism, which are priorities of the Danube Strategy.
