Opera in the Park, one of the most interesting summer cultural events in the Bulgarian capital city, opens on Friday, June 19. Traditionally, the open air stage is in the park of the Military Academy "G. S. Rakovski”. The eleventh edition is dedicated entirely to children.
The first title in the program is an adapted version of Mozart's The Magic Flute. Wonderful works for children by Bulgarian composers follow: "The Three Little Pigs" by Alexander Raichev, "Winnie the Pooh" by Andrey Drenikov, "Little Red Riding Hood" by Alexander Vladigerov and the concert-performance "The Merry Kids". The fairy-tale characters will come to life, presented by artists and musicians of the Sofia Opera and Ballet. The shows are directed by Julia Krasteva and the festival lasts until July 26.
